Linocut print 'Eucera & Vicia'

Eucera is one of the many genera of bees that relies on a certain plant species as food source, they are so called oligolectic. Vicia is the favorite plant Eucera nigrescens and E. longicornis, the two species occurring in my neighborhood. Males have these characteristic looong antennae.

This is a handmade print from a carved linoleum plate. I printed on ivory Fabriano Rosaspina paper (285 g/qm) with oil-based Caligo ink. The sheet measures 25x32 cm (appr. 10x13 inch). This edition counts 20 prints. The edition number, title and signature are written at the base of the print.

Since each print is printed individually by hand, they may vary slightly.
